Nude or Nah | Kansas City Boudoir Photographer

WHAT IS YOUR COMFORT LEVEL WITH NUDITY FOR YOUR SESSION? LETS IMAGINE ALL OF US HAPPY AND A LITTLE BIT NAKED!

This is one of the questions I will ask you before your session date when we are planning out the details of your experience. I send out several questionnaires leading up to your Divulged Boudoir Session. Some covering your set choices, hair and make up looks, and also the wardrobe for your photoshoot. In the wardrobe questionnaire, you will be able to indicate how modest or revealing you want to take your images.

I DO NOT pressure anyone to strip down completely nude. You can be as modest and covered as you want for your session. I’ve even had clients select to stick with underwear and slouchy sweaters as their comfort level and that is a-okay. These are about you and for you.

But what is my actual personal opinion on the subject?

In the words of Moira Rose:

It’s true! To finish the quote, “you may currently think ‘Oh! I’m too spooky. Or nobody wants to see these tiny boobies. But believe me one day you will look back at those photos with much kinder eyes and say, ‘Dear God, I was a beautiful thing.” -Schitts Creek

PREACH MOIRA!

It is nerve wracking to strip naked in front of others, let alone knowing photography is involved. Self acceptance is hard to come by these days! I totally get it. But that is precisely why you should do the damn thing! Ask anyone you know and see if they are truly happy with themselves and their appearance, chances are they will say they are unattractive, overweight and find all the flaws they can. (leaving no insecurity rock unturned) In reality, others do not see the things above, they see you for you, they see that you are beautiful. Something powerful happens when you let your guard down and are vulnerable in a safe space with someone you can trust. Someone that is not going to make you feel less than. But instead is going to hype you the fuck up and make you feel seen and empowered. A person that is going to stand next to you in your most vulnerable, insecure state and instead of criticizing says “YOU’RE A BAD BITCH!” Let me be that person for you!

Confidence grows from doing things that are outside of your comfort zone. You gain the most confidence in experience and in doing difficult things that you thought you couldn’t do.. There is so much MAGIC waiting for you just outside that comfort zone! And there is nothing more empowering than seeing your artistically posed body it it’s truest form!

Bare skin will also never go out of style. Nude images are timeless, empowering, emotional and raw. Nudity when done correctly is nothing short of classy and intimately beautiful. Hit that fast forward button on your life remote and imagine 10, 20, 30 years from now being able to pull out your images and say with confidence “Dear God, I was a beautiful thing. And still am.”

The best part about hiring a reputable, professional boudoir photographer is that nobody EVER has to see your nude images but you (and your photographer of course.) A professional boudoir photographer that has been around long enough and respects their clients will NEVER pressure or require you to share your intimate images publicly. Image Privacy is at the utmost importance in my studio, so if you never want anyone to see (or even know you took) nude images of yourself - they won’t. It’ll be our little secret - scouts honor.

I took this set of self portraits during my stay in Keystone, Colorado last december The second I saw the condo available online, I knew I was getting naked in this little corner. HAHAHA. I adore the vintage nod from the wood paneled walls and striped seat cover. My thrifted vintage Victoria’s Secret lingerie was a total mood in this set. These images are giving me 70s vibes.

Let me know, would you go nude for your boudoir session? Going nude is an opportunity to embrace being vulnerable, Cheers to us being born into this world naked but being clothed in potential! Let’s get you scheduled in! Hit me up already!
